Do You Qualify For An Energy Tax Credit?

QUESTION: How do I qualify for the 2009 Energy Tax Credit?

ANSWER: Due to the economic stimulus package, you can qualify for a tax credit up to $1500.00 when you install windows, doors, insulation, metal roofing or other energy efficient home improvement projects in 2009. You can deduct up to 30% of the cost of materials when you file your 2009 Federal taxes.

One word of caution: you must deal with companies who are knowledgeable and that you can trust. NOT all windows, doors, and insulation meet the strict criteria needed to qualify for the credit.

You must insist on documentation that shows the materials actually meet the energy efficiency ratings that are required. For example, just being labeled Energy Star does not mean that windows qualify. In addition, the windows must also meet certain insulation factors and Solar Heat Gain ratings.

If you have questions about what materials meet the requirements for the tax credit, feel free to stop by, email, or call us.

We have a wide variety of quality replacement windows and other products to fit most people’s budgets and that qualify for the tax credit.
